Kael is obsessive but he is not mentally-ill like Carsen. Ch. 46 Carsen attempts rape, and ALSO forcefully kisses Maythan so don't only pin the blame on Kael. Sure, Carsen doesn't succeed in raping Maythan but it doesn't change the fact that he tried to do it. Kael may be pushy, but he isn't as sick in the head as Carsen.
