Fascinating, maybe it is because he just introduced himself as her dad instead of his name

Forgot which drama/movie/webtoon where the mc just crashes out and was like I HAVE A FUCKING NAME YOU KNOW and that was the only time ive seen it. But I do think its a common thing in asian cultures, like i remember calling mom's friend by their kids name like x's mom

Lol the crash out is valid ngl, I cant say it is the same for all asians, im not an expert but i'm vietnamese born and raise, we dont do the whole call parents by kid's name thing, it's weird to us, but i know legit 100% they do this in korea, from all the asian media i consume over the years i have only seen koreans do this

I watched a documentary about this. How women stop being seen as women as soon as they become mothers, even to their husbands. Even the husbands call them "mother". So they told some men to call them by their own names. The reaction of those poor women was heartbreaking. They started to cry, every single one of them, because no one used their names anymore. Its like they were erased. Its so sad.
