Dare I say worse than remarried empress omg this was actual rage bait. ML has the audacity to cry over FL's death after ruining her whole life and destroying her physically and mentally. On top of that, after numerous interactions with ML in 2nd tl saying that she hates him for what he did, FL still ends up with him? Like what the actual freak???
I also skimmed and skipped a few chapters so maybe I just dont understand the nuances of this story, but there is quite literally no excuse or situation in which forgiving the ML would be reasonable considering his arrogance, straight disrespect for everyone, and disregard towards human life. Imo, the whole point of this 'regretful ML' trope is for the ML to realize that they are awful and genuinely turn their life around to becoming a better person; it's not enough for a ML to go "Wait, I actually love this woman whom I've been abusing for years and I shouldn't have been doing that." The ML here hasn't even reflected on the things he's done, he's only sad that he lost her. And he's so arrogant that he still thought that the FL 'belonged' to him well into the 2nd tl. Psa, I don't care what kind of trauma the ML has, there is absolutely nothing that can excuse the ML's psychotic behavior.
I'm also just soo disappointed with the FL. I know that she is traumatized from the 1st tl but at the same time, how are you gonna fall in love and forgive the man who literally drove you to your death? I just dont understand it. Seriously, this manhwa makes the leads in remarried empress look reasonable.
