Hm... I get your feelings... at some point I also wished they'd end up together... but unfortunately they did too many atrocities and hurt too many innocents for that. Honestly the only reason I'm not pissed that the empress wasn't "properly punished" too is because the whole point was to prove her wrong. And because it would put his brother in a very awkward situation.
Honestly I'd loved it if Gerard had repented it earlier and worked hard to fix things... I wouldn't even mind if he pushed the blame onto the elders and got away easily if he worked hard to compensate it after... same with Oscar... tbf I think oscar got away way more lightly than he should... even more do compared with Gerard... he lost an arm, got locked up and doesn't even know if Oscar survived or not...
I guess the moral was to not go overboard and loose yourself to revenge... but frankly... I couldn't help but feel they were both barking at the wrong tree...

Why Gerad and Oscar... I'm not saying let them go, but at least the author should've let them stay together. If the main leads and everyone else get a good ending, then why not them? I don't freaking care if Gerad is obsessed with revenge, betrayal, or all those other things. And Oscar leaving without even meeting him again? No. Please. I'm crying buckets here. From the moment those two were introduced, all I wanted was for them to end up together, even if it was just as friends. I can't bear to hate them. I' was even ready to hate and betray every other character for their sake, and I don’t even know why. Guess I'm doomed
