Well its started to get vague in my memory now since its been a year since I've read the novel
but from what I recall

At the near end of the story -

Eden had a surgery done to remove the neim on his back, tristan was really against it since removing the neim will also remove the rope that tied them together but it was edens decision hes definitely saying "my body, my rules" lol jokes aside eden had to do it because he doesn't want tristan locke to suffer since the information about the two of them got leaked and the locke family were very popular he felt like he was dragging tristan down because of his desease so he had to do it he had to remove it

So yeah they didn't get together after that it was heartbreaking really but 2 years later they got back... the end [happy ending]

This is all i remember but it was really long so i had to shorten it lol don't wanna spoil any longer best to enjoy reading it hehe

Oh wow, I didn’t know that removal surgery was even possible. I’m surprised Tristan was against it in the beginning. I have a feeling it must be a very risky surgery with lots of possible severe side effects if he were to be so against it even after they got a little closer with eachother. Do you remember if Eden healed completely, to the point where he could go back to playing piano again? I’m so glad they ended up together. I’m still wondering what Tristan’s big secret was too, since he had to step down from running his family’s businesses..well atleast somewhat because he still does what he can from the home he’s hiding out in but it’s a total secret what’s wrong with him. I assumed he might’ve had a name as well? But his was of a person that got into a car accident or something. Idk lol do you remember what was wrong with him and why they were so cautious about anything involving him getting leaked? Obviously he’s famous and all that but what was he hiding on his end? Sorry to keep bothering you lol and I really appreciate you sharing this with me! It made my day to learn their ending will be a good one. I think once the transactional part of the relationship was removed, Tristan started to realize maybe he didn’t mind helping him as much as he thought, and he actually started liking it because it gave him an excuse to have to do those things he’d never do because he was always so worried about his reputation, so much so that it never would’ve even crossed his mind that he could possibly be attracted to men in the first place. Even tho I think this is a case of him being straight n turning bi, I think that’s still true and now Eden doesn’t have to feel guilty that Tristan is doing this monumental favor for him and he’s just a huge burden on him and all those around him. Poor Eden was constantly walking on eggshells even when Tristan didn’t want him to, and it made Tristan feel like a monster when he was actually being very kind and generous so I can imagine how frustrating this situation was for both of them. Such a unique story, I really enjoyed this different kind of plot for a change.
