He's working for himself and on his own accord. i wonder if he's still trying to take down the politician or something because he's determined to or has some sense of justice but idk abt the justice part. It'd be nice to look into it. (I forgot if they're going after the politician or not, I'm doing a reread)

This plot is really strange, but authors can make their own rules, I guess. Jake’s been busted down to the single job of just pretending to be a Merciful gang member and doing nothing else. The CIA is now trying to eliminate him because he’s got dirt on some CIA executives (they’re skimming money off of drug busts). Jake is fully aware he’s being targeted for assassination.
Sounds like Rolfe (his boss) might’ve had plans to eventually eliminate Jake, but Jake leaked to CIA executives that he’d informed Rolfe about them illegally skimming money, so now Rolfe’s a target as well (lol, well-played, Jake!) and now she’s forced to team up with Jake to protect her own life. Basically, Jake’s now formed his own independent team which consists of himself, Rolfe, Shin, probably Caesar and Izmel (guy with white hair and a scar on his face), and Hosung- Shin’s hacker buddy from Chinatown.

Just wanna know, as to what Jay is now? He is CIA right? But he got kicked out from the mission so rn he's working for himself(?) Or thats all just as act, him being fired so he's still undercover, anything to explain this will help me so muchhヾ(❀╹◡╹)ﾉ~
