It wasn’t cuz of some crazy ass fans omg stop spreading misinfo
She reposted a racist video and the black fans took offense to that (obviously) and called her out. Instead of apologizing she posted a statement defending herself and being ignorant about the situation. People didn’t like that (obviously) and called her out again once more for her ignorance. Instead of handling it professionally she started blocking fans on twt and then deactivated. The way she’s handling this situation is childish af, and none of this would’ve happened if she properly apologized.
Shes also a hypocrite cuz when the stage play was initially announced she was not in support of it cuz of the black face, but now she’s apparently changed her mind?
bro you obviously have not seen the whole thing. You are the one misinforming. That racist video was a joke. People took it too far. Sure, maybe it wasn't the best way to do it, but for reposting a video she laughed at (allegedly) and NOT EVEN MADE- made her racist???
Plus she wasn't supportive of the stage play because the company that hired the actors didn't want to find black actors for the black characters. She asked them if possible to do it and the company was literally "um, well, no." when there are many black ppl fluent in Japanese (more so than Japanese themselves).
Do you even know the bs she went through because of so called fans?
They made her non-binary and when she came and said "No, I am in fact, a woman." PEOPLE GOT MAD. Because apparently it was so bad that she WASN'T a non-binary person.
And there were fans who had a rage fit that Tamsy wasn't trans. They were spreading so much misinfo, so when Urana stepped up and said that Tamsy "wasn't trans, he was a man", ppl got mad. For her own character btw.
and th bs that she hated ppl's ocs? ABSOLUTE BS- She just didn't want her cover art to be used.. Said it multiple times. People continue to use her cover art with their ocs (and non fans got confused if those ocs were part of gachiakuta) so she called them out (because it was bringing confusion among the fans, which character was part of gachiakuta and which was an oc). (She did in fact liked the ocs but it was getting very unprofessional when ppl started to use every cover art of Gachiakuta's manga when permission was obviously not given.)
If because of ppl like you, who believe everything tiktok said, we get Gachiakuta discontinued, I swear, I will give up on ppl.
Omfg first of all I don’t even fucking like TikTok - I don’t deal with the drama on there. Second of all, YOU are the one that has it wrong.
The racist video was a joke, yes! And so many people understood that it was meant to be a joke. But I fear racism is not funny. And when people called her out she did not apologize. She posted a half assed “apology” which was her just defending herself from the backlash - and a few hours later she deleted it. Idk what u call an apology but that sure as hell wasn’t one.
Yes she wasn’t supportive of the stage play when it was announced but she suddenly switched up the moment it released? Bffr that’s what you call performative activism. If you’re not gonna support it from the beginning have a backbone and stick to your words.
And yes I do know what she went through, everything that happened before this specific situation was plain fucking stupid and showed that the fans are immature mfs in their first fandom.
The whole nonbinary thing was a mistranslation gone wrong - nobody attacked her for being a woman and not nonbinary. INFACT conservative fans started attacking the queer community for mistaking her as one. She was not at fault here.
The Tamsy thing wasn’t even that bro. It initially started as a joke until the CONSERVATIVE fans (yet again) found it and started attacking the community over it and taking it seriously. Word reached urana and she disproved the rumor. Nobody attacked urana for it. The conservative fans on the other hand kept on attacking the community and put words in uranas mouth - things she had never said before. She was not at fault here.
And well yes I fear every fandom is horrible in its own ways ?? I never blamed this on urana?
Nothing you said was the point here though - the point is that she also has some guilt in this SPECIFIC situation. So stop defending her as if she doesn’t. Racism isn’t just “oh I hate black people” racism is also being blatantly ignorant to black peoples culture and history. And the concept of an ignorant author who has multiple well represented black characters is mind blowing to me. And the way she handled it was plain childish and unprofessional. No matter what at the end of the day she’s a professional and should know better.
Everything that happened before this thing was what led Iranian to deactivate, with how it was going she was bound to go off twt. But this whole racist joke thing? Not a good look on her.
I think people are allowed to feel uncomfortable with the reposted video, but I also think the situation got way too extreme. From what I’ve seen, Kei didn’t repost it with hateful intentions, and since she apologized in japanese there couldve been some translation issues that probably made her apology harder for international fans to understand properly.
At the same time, criticism is fine, but harassment and dogpiling a creator until they leave social media helps nobody. There’s a difference between saying “this was insensitive” and instantly calling someone racist or evil.
The fandom has already had nonstop drama and sh for months, so this whole situation feels way more complicated than people make it seem online. What im trying to do is spread awareness and not make the situation worse than it already is
The entire issue here is that idiots took this as an excuse to blame her getting harassed on the black and queer fans, when in reality she had been getting harassed WAY before that. It’s just plain stupid that the moment that racism got involved her deactivation was put only on the people who got rightfully upset at her actions
And now her account is back after just 4 days. So was all that racism towards the black fandom, under the guise of defending urana, all that necessary?
I don't think black fans or queer fans are the solely rresponsible for what happened, and that wasn't the point I was making.
My point is that people were allowed to criticize the repost if they found it offensive, but harassment and dogpiling from anyone isn't okay. I also don't think reposting the video automatically proves urana is racist or hateful.
The fandom had already been dealing with multiple controversies and harassment issues before this situation(which ik already), which is why I think it's more complicated than saying one group caused everything
I'm not trying to attack black fans, queer fans, or anyone else. I'm just encouraging people to look at the full context instead of reducing everything to one story

Please keep supporting the author in many ways cause i heard she deleted her X account cause of some crazy ass fans and i dont want gachi get discontinued just cause of some bs fans
