yeah. he is trash, a whore, a golddigger, cheating bastard who is ungrateful and absolute narcassist. and who also ruined what life could have given to na haesoo all those years and caused her a whole lot trauma and suffering and its so clear in the story.

but his past self which was naive , helpful and which loved a haesoo a lot did not deserve that shit he went through. and eventually all the shit he went through , and also his OWN choice turned him into a peice of shit .
rather than taking it as a sob story , this just justifies that the author though through the characters and atleast him , well enough and made his story more intersting and didnt turn him into just a pathetic , cheating guy.

if this story had reached to this point by the 50th chapter , it would have been way better but the author seems to be dragging the story a lot.
