Weird... no matter how you frame it, it's still pedophilia and beastiality. There's no 'approach' to it to make it less immoral. Also, its a revenge story? Course youll see some level of gratification. I think being morally grey when reading this will help you. Besides that, lay off dark themed stories.
that's not what i was getting at... :) i'm not saying any approach would've made it moral or that i need it to be moral. just that you can incorporate taboo topics into a story in a nuanced way for the sake of deepening a plot and opening societal discussion.
i think revenge plots are interesting to read, my problem lies with the extended scenes showing beastiality and pedophilia very graphically and then story-wise only shallowly explored. to me that shows their purpose for being there is soft-catering to fetish for extreme acts of violence and that being 'justified' by it being a retaliation or a trauma point
the issue doesn’t lie in depicting these themes, the issue is how weirdly they approached them and the message that sends. like there is no issue depicting the graphic backstory of the priest but then it gets into the kids in the scene. they basically watched children get raped and we’re like “that’s just how life is. sucks but not my problem” mind you these are rich nobles and letting this go on doesn’t serve any purpose for mc’s goals. also they fucked in front of the kids to show them “having sex is enjoyable” and then showed the kid being like “wow it is” implying the kid has a more positive outlook on the situation he’s in??????????????? like they made pedophilia a plot device to progress the relationship of these characters while getting the kid to sign off on it
i get that this is dark fantasy but why is pedophilia and beastiality framed this way...? they for sure could have approached it more delicately instead of seemingly being for someone's destructive gratification
