He's a ruthless killer who's been fighting tooth and nail not to assault her. And in my opinion, he already has at least twice. So it (feels) kinda late to get caught up on him admitting that consent line out loud. He's told us, and shown us who he was the whole time. His sweet moments don't cancel that out

I mean... I didnt saw him as the type to assault, not all killers are sexual criminals. But that is a good perspective, I just think it could have been better without that line, cause his monologue already express that internal battle he is having to control his urges

Oh, like inside vs outside thoughts. I felt nothing cuz he just said his usual monologues aloud. But I think I see what you mean, it felt he was overselling like a villain monologue and became cringe

Saying he is trying to not hurt her and say her consent doesnt matter are conflicting lines. So no I dont consider that he simply saying his thoughts out loud.

You really think he would let her go? Is obsessing over someone and pushing them until you agree to give in and have sex truly consensual? Is kissing her and grabbing her boobs when she obviously doesn't want that consensual? He doesn't want to destroy their relationship, so he's restraining himself and allowing her the illusion of choice. Her consent only goes as far as holding him back on borrowed time.

I don't mean to sound mad or anything, but after everything I've went through and how media grooms young women to crave a "love like a storm". These comments feel ignorant to the fact men will literally tell you who they are. They will say their deepest desire or admit to literal crimes. Yet we'll think he's trying to change, or well he's always been so sweet on me for years, he would never do that, it's because of his past. That line isliterally on brand if you've been with scary ass dudes that are nothing but sweet and kind to you. I can go on and onnnnn

And that is why the line doesn't make any sense, a man that wants to appear hamrless wont say it directly like that. It is a dumb move. Second, in his thoughts he literally says he is restraining himself to not hurt her cause his biggest fear is her hating him, and the quote is "your consent doesn't matter" these two go against each other. Cause if her consent didnt matter he would not be that scared of her hating him and surpressing his urges cause at the end her wanting it or not would not matter

if her consent mattered, they wouldn't be in bed right now
