YTA for sure. Even though the relationship does seem "shitty" at least the alpha didnt lie and actually admitted to his 'cheating'. I, 20something beta male, is an absolute dumbass and agreed to "date" my Alpha (20something male) friend. Now, it has been 7 years since our relationship started. He does not show any sexual interest towards me and seems to even dislike me at times because I am a beta, but after all this, I stayed in the relationship because I was in love with him.
A couple days ago we accidentally had sex while I was accompanying him on a business trip because he seemed drunk during. The next morning, I lied about it and made it seem like I was in another room and that he had sex with someone else. But today, he confessed to me that he was going out with another omega. I think he is referring to the "omega" he slept with at the hotel, which was me but he does not know this. I was initially shocked and wanted to refuse his decision, but after thinking things through, I realized the nature of our shitty relationship and how unhappy I was. So, I agreed and told him we "we are not breaking up, we are just ending our friendship," and walked away.
So reddit, am I the asshole?
