I guess the author grew up in asian family... Here most people say that a child must take care of their parents.. Even when the parents is bad, like abusive, gambling, and pilling up in debt. Other people kept saying the child are bad if they leave or not "helping" the parents.
Its disappointing that the author have this kind of mindset. They lack empathy to their own character misfortune (and maybe even real people who have the same experience like hyesung)
