Duh. Come on now let's be real of course becoming a duchess is better. Hell, marrying a HOT Duke to boot when you're basically a commoner? Come on nowww that ain't limiting yourself at all, especially during that time.

Ya gotta realise nobles at the time had a huge amount of land and money along with status. As a peasant you'd have to pay taxes and rent to these nobles alongside church tax.... nobles on the other hand barely paid taxes and had most of their land rented out to commoners like farmers. Hell... a peasant can build a house on a nobles land and that house would be owned by the noble.

Insane but they had THAT MUCH power.

In my country for instance nobles owned what is know whole villages... imagine that having a whole village as your personal backyard.

Limiting? How is being with a duke limiting? Even a baron could have a whole village, imagine a Duke. Look at Lichtenstein as a country..... insanee

She’s recommending the duke because he really is the better choice. I think in the earlier chapters, the duke hinted that he would support her if she pursued acting. The FL is conflicted about pursuing her dream because of her engagement to her trash fiancé. But if she marries someone immensely wealthy like the duke, she can pursue her dreams freely since the duke also loves watching plays. It’s like hitting two birds with one stone. So, the duke is definitely a much better choice.

Following up on this, if she married someone with lower status than the duke, she’d probably be even more limited, or worse, not allowed to pursue her dreams at all, especially with the reputation of a broken engagement. Women were heavily suppressed during that era. So yeah, I’d definitely choose the duke. It’s not bias — it’s practicality. The FL is practical too, which is why she let her trash ex-fiancé cheat. Girl is clearly upgrading her life is she chooses the duke.

Yes, she will have more freedoms with the Duke. For the FL, this would certainly be the BEST case scenario. Why? She can pursue her interest in acting, legally have more rights to do things as a duchess, and she can possibly open up the idea of love in her marriage with the duke. It’s also very clear that the FL can only feel at ease after being secure (the solution for that would be getting married in this society).

He hasn’t, but the scene in Chapter 14 gave me reason to assume that the duke is interested in Greta. The duke asked her if she truly had no interest in becoming an actress, and Greta said she needed a marriage. The duke replied, “Does it not matter who your marriage partner is?” That was already a hint for me that the duke has interest for Greta. But you do you. After all, this is an original manhwa work, and we don’t have any spoilers yet. My opinion still stands: the duke is the better option.

and I might be delulu for this but man is LONGING with how he said "I've been waiting for you" or something of that sort and with how he's stealing glances at her, even the fucktard Lawrence saw him looking at her.
