yeah but kill yourself by yourself (〜 ̄△ ̄)〜
okay skip this if you're sensitive about this topic, i think I'm gonna come off as very cold and asshole-y, BUT
I'm not trying to shame him for making the to-die choice, it's just that it was very selfish and rude in a different way than usual.
like, if one wants to kill the one person they have full ownership over, aka themselves, they can, that's not selfish it's just exercising your own rights over your own body. the selfish part is not the death itself, it's how you do it and who you leave behind. like, even ignoring the who you leave behind to mourn you, as most suicidal people don't really think about this, and i get it that it's because they feel like they don't have anything and anyone left to think of, but even just being the poor unlucky person who finds the post-suicide person can mess with gis sanity.
idk i often think, when i hear that someone killed themselves by jumping off the roof, about the people down there who have to witness that and what that does to them, and it just makes me feel like the person who jumped was very self-centered, only focused on their own pain
AND MC LEFT ML, THE GUY HE KNEW LOVES HIM, TO WAKE UP NEXT TO THE CORPSE OF THE PERSON HE LOVES
he willingly, aware-ingy, did that
so it leaves me to think either he was trying to hurt mc too, which os not implied by nothing else in rhe story, or he was so lost in his own grief that he just stoped thinking and was willing ro cause immense pain to the people he cared for, which I'm perfectly willing to judge
i get he was imprisoned and couldn't go jump on the ocean, but the least he could do was kill himself on the bathroom, not in the fucking bed where his lover slept peacefully
it was stupid as well because he knew ml has healing abilities, or maybe subconsciously he wanted ml to fix him, who knows
please don't feel insulted by my long comment, i just wanted to rant as I've gone through having someone i truly love consider suicide and I'm incredibly sour about how little it mattered how much pain their death would've caused, and I know that sounds like putting their pain on second importance level, but the pain left behind is not unimportant either, especially when you know they also love the people they leave behind
so to me that was the case to mc too, we clearly see in the story that je cared for ml, and understood he had to act as king and didn't blame hom personally, and was just on so much pain and wasn't thinking, but he should've fucking though about it, and I'm dying on that hill

didn't expect that, tbh
like, kind of a dick move to kill yourself in bed next to your lover
i mean, i guess if you wanna hurt him too, making him wake up next to his dead lover is a sure way to scar him for life
