To everyone wanting to read the novel and start where the manga left off, I suggest reading at the start of chapter 3: drawn from memory!! . . . . . . . . . .
The setting here in the manga is different from their setting in the novel but they dont worry as they get to the same conclusion (understandable as novels and mangas are different storyteling mediums so they have to take some liberties somewhere).
Here in the manga, they went to the house to investigate directly with Kurihara on the phone but in the novel, they figured everything out in the conference room they rented using a floor plan Yuzuki wrote from memory (hence the chapter name!).
I may be biased but reading the novel does a better job creeping you out as its written in first person in the perspective of the author so you feel more involved. The novel is also written as if its something that you would
