Even before that, no matter how sincerely he served, MC was never trusted his words or actions just because he was an Alpha, and for over 10 years he was nothing more than a pheromone suppressant, someone only called upon during heat.
All while ignoring ML's repeated warnings, MC hired the ALPHA son of the enemy company which had kidnapped and imprisoned ML, broken his legs, and tried to kill him by setting him on fire, gave him critical position as secretary completely regardless any risks to company or himself, showering him with trust and kindness he'd never shown him.

If MC had just given a clear yes or no answer during those 10 YEARS instead of insulting ML, treating him like garbage, and keeping him as a convenient tool, none of this would have happened.

If you actually spend time to read the story instead of criticizing random ppl, you will understand why the ML didn't want to give up everything to MC easily like handing candy to him because ML knew doing so would not only ruin their promise, but also downplay MC's capability, which he's been feeling so insecure and protective of for being an omega ever since the beginning.
