He does get his old memory back and his lovey dovey phase was not erased per se but he doesn't acknowledge it. The memories keep popping in his mind now and then(mostly the sexy times). But i think you needn't worry, they won't be at odds for long. Ive started and finished reading it yesterday and I was worried id be stuck at a cliffhanger by the end but it was a prelude to their relationship getting back to normal.
