I don't think Jin's father is getting released. I think the situation is meant to draw a parallel to Jin's past when his dad got out of prison but the family wasn't notified so they weren't able to run away and as a result his mom and sister were murdered
See? Everything is foreshadowing.
In ch.6 pillow talk after sexy scene when Jin told huijae his past and HJ offered to kill his dad, he actually smiled first then his sense came back.
In this ch. the granny situation is similar and he thinks of Huijae’s help with underground methods too, even criticized the police lack of competence.
So when will Jin’s father gonna get released?
I think we should prepared when we reach Jin’s arc because it might get seriously dark, and HJ’s past seem pretty bad too.
