Someone else mentioned it but I’d realllyyyy think it would tense the atmosphere more if the audience didn’t know the past lover’s name, if it was just an illegible blob from the POV of both the blondie because he hates the teacher’s ex so much that it just registers as static to him and to the teacher who’s forgetting his lover’s name as he falls deeper into a pit of despair.
