Someone spoil it for me. Why is juilan's mom so hateful towards river?

They did not reveal but it's obvious she hates poor people. Called Karl's mom a lowly mother.

Is that all? River said something about "what my family did". I figured her parents did something that provoked Julian's mom to hate her (and her family). To the point of ensuring she was sold into human trafficking(?)

Nah...I doubt River's family would be able to do anything. Their only sin is probably making Julian like River, so much so that they lived in the mansion.
Iirc, Julian had to convince her mother to make River's mother bring her every time. He even negotiated him taking his meds for River. I would think the mother did not like how they were getting too close, drove the family away, planned an accident and all. It was possible she didn't want another incident like how Karl was made - have a relationship with a commoner. We'll find out if there's more but I wouldn't be surprised if it was that superficial.
