What do you think about this type of secret identity romance stories:

Sakuya--- May 28, 2026 5:24 am

where person-A has 2 identities: identity-1 and identity-2. person-B is the love interest. identity-1 is the identity that's rarely around person-B and the one person-B loves, whereas identity-2 identity will be the one constantly around person-B maybe as a friend/acquaintance/etc. person-B doesn't know they're 1 person because they have different appearance and/or vibes. person-B is really, really in love with identity-1. but with identity-2 around, person-Bs' feelings waver for some reason (then will be torn between identity1 and identity2 and/or have identity crisis). eventually, person-B admits of loving identity-2 now. luckily for person-B, identity-1 and identity-2 are only 1 person. they confess their love and they live happily ever after.

personally, this plot kinda irks me bc this means person-B or the love interest is easily wavered. Though their story in the book ended in positive note, i cant help but think that someday in their relatoonship, person-B will eventually cheat. for ex. if they have LDR (maybe bc of business), then person-A's physical absence and another person flirting with person-B in sight might make person-B's feelings for person-A waver. person-B's lucky the first time bc they're 1 person. but what if another person comes in? will person-B's love for person-A survive or will it waver as before???

There ia a manga with a very similar premise as the one you're talking about, and it really got me conflicted and somewhat confused, in that manga it seemed that the reason person B liked both identities was because they both helped him get over his struggles and brought the better side of him and both helped him see the world in a different light, and it seemed that person B started developing feelings for identity 2 becase they remind him of identity 1 so much he felt as if it was the same person. But what doesn't sit right with me is that person B got involved romantically with identity 1 and 2 around the same time without even knowing they are the same person, person B might have seen the situation with both identity 1 and 2 as non official yet so that's he did what he did, or it might be because at the time he was subconsciously treating them both as if they were the same person, but sadly if we were to bet on who's more likely to cheat in 3 years then I'm going for person B (⊙…⊙ )

That's true. It's like mc or whoever has the double identity is training their partner to cheat

What got me shoked is that in the manga person B is the one that got upsed with person A (the two identity one) after discovering they are the same person, I honestly thought he faked being upset hoping person A wouldn't realise the cheating situation and get mad at him instead O_o

I understand why person B is upset. would also feel betrayed if I opened up to a person(identity 1), then suddenly another person(identity 2) comes in and acts exactly like identiy 1.

Like the essence was the same so you fell inlove again not knowing it's because its the same person. Now instead of just clearing up the misunderstanding, person A made person B doubt if his feelings was genuine all along.

It may look like Person B cheated, but Person A instigated the 2 identities. So it just feels like Person A just manipulated Person B's feelings
