It worth i swearrrrr , there's a really minor romance but you will forget it afterwards because it's not highlighted, they're focused on the story and that's what I like about it !!!
Its so little romance that I recall seeing the female maybe 2 or 3 times. Rn if she came up in a chapter I wouldn't recognize her right away. I dont even recall her name lol and yes its worth reading its great if toure into these kind of stories

He meets his girlfriend like, 4 times MAX. Once when he just got in the university, 2nd when they both got assigned on a project I think, 3rd was when they went official and they "started dating," and 4th & last, was when they graduated lol
