Probably because of their defense mechanism thinking that “everything will still happen according to the novel” and they were just trying to survive or to stop themselves from having feelings or attachments to a character. It is annoying, yes, but I do agree with the bold fl type. But it just really annoys me whenever they have their own assuming moment and sulk over it. Avoids the ML while creating some sad delulus that the Og Ml and Og fl is developing a relationship according to the plot. They avoid communicating or asking the ML and just assume.
Yes it’s just like talk to him, the ml could be by their side just about everyday, talk trash about or openly dislike the ogfl while theyre with him but as soon as they see the ml and ogfl interact it just goes out the window
I’m ngl I know it’s common in this type of thing but I find it so annoying “ofc the original story is still gonna happen” when literally nothing has been going that way at all, why aren’t there any bold fmc that just walk over there to see what’s happening, I know I can’t really expect that out of this mc but still I’d like to find something where they just don’t gaf about an “orignal course of events that’s bound to happen” probably gonna put this story on pause until I’m in the mood to read it again
