Pretty sure it's just a way for a guide to weaponize their guiding against espers like backflowing the energy or smthng.
i think there are different ones in different stories. Sometimes it's a bad thing. Not the right kin of guiding.
Reverse guiding is when the guide pushes the ester to the brink of corruption or corruption itself. While guiding is when they calm them down, reverse is the opposite.
