Yes, they were false updates. Someone was trolling just because they don’t like the story. Majority of the people who read it don’t even like the story, but you don’t see us spamming useless unfunny memes like that person was lol.
I think rather than not liking the story, they just found this had the most views on the site. They uploaded 1 or 2 troll posts on good manhwas too, but realized that this had the biggest audience to get attention from. That's why they ended up uploading around 8 posts here.
Is there anything to gain from doing that? Or is it just your usual internet attention obsessed shenanigans?

Definitely for attention. I'm actually surprised this rarely ever happens since any account is allowed to upload in mangago. This just shows how badly someone has to want attention to actually do it.
This one probs just wanted to share their graduation announcement with someone since they might not have no friends or family to share it with, pretty sad.

Honestly, I do wish there were more upload restrictions here so that the chapters could be a bit more organized without so many duplicates and other things.
Yeah truee, multiple uploaders along with bots does make it confusing sometimes. But honestly, the open upload system in mangago is what makes it one of the best sites.
Top uploaders like Jujucat, Bloomingdale, Seph, kaoru, nekobasu get you HD official translations (Bless them).
But it's the regular users who pick up unpopular titles, correct the wrong chapters, and continue fan translating abandoned mangas, that are the ones carrying this platform.
With just a handful of people, it would've been difficult to maintain all the series in this site or have to rely on shabby bots to do it.
But allow the whole community to upload as they please, help each other, you get to reliably have chapters for almost EVERY series.
So, it sucks when people abuse it like this, because stricter uploading policy could lead to fewer uploads for beloved series.
