It most probably was. Romantic and highly manipulative. How else to get someone to willingly go through torture to become a guardian curse?
Agreed it was probably grooming and I wouldn’t be surprised if he realises he was actually a bad person but cause Muhan/Mugo likes him so much he’s protecting that truth from coming out
But the only question with that is... why does he feel such hate and disgust if HE was the bad one?
