It is really a sad ending they both die it ended imo so bittersweet
The top dies(sacrifices)
The bottom dies after a while cuz he couldnt enjoy spring without the top but before he dies he hallucinated the top was there with him bc the top said he will come back to him as a petal and there you go bottom dies :(( alone, starved, lonely, depressed
