I'd say the plot is 99% cliché, but the author nailed the vibes. There is literally no plot point you wouldn't expect (ok, except the rushed ending, but it was hinted in the author's note it comes from the their personal circumstances, and they did their best to wrap main couple's story) but somehow I was still engaged???
It's about the small choices - giving a few chapters for their life at the getaway, letting characters flirt instead of a skip to action, allowing them to have clear boundaries. MC's choices were well written - even if some of them frustrated me, it never felt it was 'out of place' or illogical. She felt real, three dimentional. As did the petty and childish side of the ML. They weren't perfect, just human
Don't get me wrong, it's not a masterpiece, but if you like this type of story, for their chemistry alone it's worth it (and good smut!)
