This,,, i think they just fckn hate the ship idk, like the hell, they're over there crying and yapping about what? fetishizing?, Just throwing out the word just to make bl fans feel bad for consuming and shipping gay media, im queer myself and i also love shipping bromances and consume a lot of gay media, and why would people who ship non canon gay ship not consume actual ones, like bffr, y would they even ship gay characters when they don't want actual ones, like the hell, of course not all queer media would be mainstream, people have different tastes, just like that dumbsht who likes rape sht plot

I'll say as someone who has been reading the novel for years, ship whoever you want it's never that serious. That person honestly sounds very young and not very mature, cause I used to do that same shit when I was younger, and I've realized a few things
1.they are mostly talking about mainstream shounen fans finding gay ships wierd
2.The majority of popular shounen doesn't have just gay shippers
Honestly if you ever paid attention you will realize the big main stream shounen show shippers are a minority of the fandom it's just that they are the most proactive and loudest fans, that's why most small fandoms with shippers stay alive longer than fandoms without, because they usually make the most fan content.
Majority of the fans of shounen shows are also young boys, who are also usually very homophobic,of course they don't want you shipping their favs with their other favs, cause they don't like gays at the first place, that's why they find it weird,if you honestly ever met non homophobic guy who doesn't do ship usually they are fine, cause they either don't care or the ship makes sense to them, majority of the shounen ships obviously will never be canon but you can see why people ship them, that's why actual normal people don't care cause they know it's not that serious, the only people that care too much are either young pre-teens or teens. And on their point of it hurting the gay community,I feel like they are somewhat referencing to what the mha community was like a few years back, which is vastly different from the sctir community, this sort of shipping in the sctir community is genuinely hurting no one and frankly the moment you decenter homophobic people or stop trying to please them the.better it is for you, their values do not come from gay ships in fandoms, they will make fun of gay people no regardless if you ship or not.
The author themselves in this series does not take shipping that seriously from what I've seen.In their QnA 2022 a woman literally asked the author if Moon Hyuna would be alright with same sex marriage with another women(you can find it on Tumblr),and they literally replied it doesn't seem impossible(it was mtl but basically yes Hyuna would),the author even has non binary characters, this novel was not made as a lgbtq literature it was catered towards the action genre not romance, the author never wrote an explicitly romantic scene ever in the novel with any character from what I'm remembering. On their note of people shipping them hurting the gay community,it genuinely doesn't and I'm saying this as a queer person myself,on top that the majority of the people in this fandom from what I've met are also part of the LGBTQ+ community and that majority itself also ships them.
I do get their point of actual gay literature being under consumed or under represented, but you gotta know that people who ship bromances usually also watch LGBTQ+ dramas, obviously not everyone has the same taste so obviously your fav media will not always be popular, and as I've said since big fandoms with gay ships don't just contain gay shippers, where as the shows about LGBTQ+ or chartered are mainly filled with LGBTQ+ people and those shippers, from that point it's all down to preferences of genres.Even then the point of their under consumption isn't that simple.
It's kinda funny how they are saying all that with potn PFP,which literally represents rape, prostitution and abusive relationships in a romantic way?I would say that harms the LGBTQ community even more compared to whatever this is.
