trust me this is genuinely such a good story. it does kind of get really hard to follow, but it's so worth it! the 2nd season mostly follows a different character (kimoto) who is the guy in the cover! kimoto is the guy who deals with all of the machines and gives jin the little robot creature in the first few episodes.

basically, season 1 followed Jin who used to be part of this program that trained 6 highly skilled children, but there was an accident (more of this gets explained in the latest chapters) and Jin ends up separated from the other 5. he gets taken in by this little gang and they're basically his found family, but eventually they get into drug trafficking to make ends meet which is their downfall because these drugs are powerful hallucinogens. once people take enough of these drugs, they lose themselves to these demon creatures (forgive me for not using the right terminology it's been a hot minute since i've fully read through season 1) which is why the drug is illegal.

Jin is busted and captured during a transport mission, i believe. And the people he's caught by just so happen to be the other 5 kids who were in the same program he was in. There's a lot of resentment towards Jin that we don't really know why it exists in season 1 because we're following the perspective of Jin who has amnesia. So, his first part of the story is simply there to give a lot of context about the world and to set up what happens later on. But genuinely it gets heavy because we still connect with the people that Jin grew close to in his gang (especially Charon)

In season 2, where Kimoto is the main character, we get a lot more insight into the backstory and things start making a lot more sense because Kimoto remembers everything. However, more lore things are added to the present timeline, so it can get hard to follow, but the past timeline starts lining up.

I think it's definitely worth it to keep reading though!

I'm at Ch.59, and I'm still confused at some part. But this Manhwa was probably meant to mess up your brain LOL. Just read and enjoy the rollercoaster ride (≧∀≦) I can't stop reading this one XD
