like i said, the viewing characters as children to eventually lover pipeline is real. there is so many "open ending harem" stories where the mc isnt interested in the harem members but then they force the harem on him for bullshit reasons and/or the story doesnt resolve the romantic plotlines bc the mc doesnt reject them and just let the status quo continue where he's just passive to their advances. even if currently the mc only sees them as children, the story hasn't finished yet, and you don't know what kind of asspull move harem authors will do. ive been burned way too many times by these authors so im not gonna give the benefit of the doubt about the buildup of several girls falling for him, especially since their previous work IS a harem
Lmao i get it i hate harem too, but later in the novel they see him as a respectable figure dw especially when his power is revealed. I see more bromance than harem tho especially when mc bodyguard looking for him in every reincarnation and mc genuinely doesn’t open up to anyone beside his bodyguard
i hate to break it to the gay shippers, but this is a harem, consisting of only female characters. When it comes to male Korean webnovel authors of high/epic fantasy worlds, if they are making a point that multiple girls are obsessed with mc and want to marry him... you better believe it will turn into a harem 70% of the time. They love handwaving the ethics of polygamy with "it's fantasy fiction, morals don't mean shit". So just bc the mc only sees them as his children so far doesn't mean shit. Don't so many romances have that premise of a love interest relentlessly pursuing the non-interested protagonist until they wear them down? Also, there's a lot of stories where the harem members force the harem arrangement on the protagonist even tho he may not agree to it (shallow virtue signaling). so, in other words, even tho the novel isnt completed yet, writing the mc to be passive/dense and not reject the harem members as they try to seduce him is a very intentional choice, likely to set up a harem ending, whether or not he actively or passively accepts it. Especially since the author's previous webnovel was also a full-fledged harem... dont give this work the benefit of the doubt. (if u like harem, ig u can rejoice)
