You're right! Hina is the endgame in the novel. Since so many people were disappointed with the novel saying it's "BL bait" (even though other routes exist) they decided to remove all the girl endings in the manga. I'm not a fan of it but here we are :') Your memory is correct :D

My memories' kinda blurred, but wasn't Hina the original route or like— the one who got accepted by Akira in the novel? I was kinda bummed out at that time cus I was lowkey rooting for Kaede lmao BUT I WAS SO THANKFUL THO THAT THERE'S ACTUALLY DIFFERENT ROUTES, but as I've said— my memories' hazy cus that was so long ago before the manga came out
