Kinda the opposite. It's disgusting to think that it would be any better if he was 'nicer' to her. It's still coerced sex and if a story is going to have rape as a plot point I would rather it be depicted in an uncomfortable realistic way than a rose tinted fluffy one where harm is never addressed and SA is just the building block for a happy relationship or something that can just be skipped over. Not that this manwha does that but I disagree with your sentiment *because* rape is bad.

Something a little less violent is still rape and is far closer to more common forms of assault. I also never said that it had to be brutal. I just want it to actually matter to the story instead of being used like a quirky start to a relationship.
In fiction, if you are going to make the argument of normalisation and apologia then it is more dangerous to make a sexual fantasy out of being 'nicely' assaulted in my opinion because that 'niceness' is just so the viewer doesn't feel uncomfortable. If someone internalizes the idea that just a little coersion is okay or a bit of force is spicy as long as it doesn't go too far then that is dangerous.
Your original comment wasn't very good in my opinion. Being able to separate a character commiting horrific actions for the sake of a narrative, from the author creating something harmful or endorsing a hateful message is important. The only reason you gave for why the fictional rapist should be killed to save the story is that he's a bad person who did bad things to the protagonist for his own pleasure. And? So? Someone like that could exist and I get that it's upsetting to you but I think it makes for an interesting conflict in a post apocalyptic setting. I wanted to read from a victim's perspective because as a victim of CSA that sort of discomfort feels relatable and helps me better process my own feelings. The author didn't deliver but the potential was there.
But generally I do not see what is controversial about wanting rape in fiction to either be honest or extremely unrealistic. What I hate is this in-between area where things are horrific but it gets bulldozed by romance getting things like mafia booktok slop.

The only way this comic could save itself is if ML is killed because he’s literally just raping her for his own pleasure. Like he could at least pretend that he’s not a rapist by not treating her so badly when they get down to having sex but he’s literally choking her and saying he wants to “train her” yk meanwhile she’s probably a virgin.
