it's a real struggle because it became a habit huhu, i suggest rather than restricting yourself try distractions when u realize ur on the website!! there are website blockers as well and u can reduce your access little by little (opening only on weekends etc) and when you realize you have the website open, you can try immediately switching to a different hobby and/or task
Aye man, no one can make you do anything. You have to be willing to get yourself to do something. You gotta focus on long term goals instead of instant gratification. Treat yourself like a kid youre raising or something like that. Yeah of course that kid would eat all the candy in the world if you let it but you know just because it feels good to the kid, doesnt mean it IS good for the kid. Things can feel good but doesnt mean theyre always the best option for us. At some point, the consequences of your actions will catch up to you no matter how much you put it off. You can either do something about it now or wait until there is nothing you can do about it anymore. It will also be a good idea to try and limit your time on here as much as you can make yourself because it can be literally addicting. Youre getting addicted to the flood of positive chemicals in your brain when you get on here.
But again, you can read this and keep the same course of action or you can choose better for yourself. What advice would you give a friend who told you the same situation?
You have to discipline yourself! And i know its not easy but condition yourself on reading a manhwa for about 2 hours with a prize in mind ( taking yourself to eat a snack or reviewing notes maybe)
Depriving yourself with things that you like makes you crave it more!! But at the same time don't abuse it ( ̄∇ ̄") you're gonna get addicted—i think ur showing signs of getting addicted with reading too :(
so condition yourself its either :
1. You'll read a manhwa an hour or two (and give yourself a prize)
Or
2. Finish an entire manhwa and take a break for 2-5 hours ( which you can review your subjects in those hours)
Hope this helps ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
Also, a really big things that people nowadays need to learn how to do is be bored. Take some time to just sit there and do nothing but sit with yourself start with three minutes, then five, then seven, then ten and then keep going as much as you can. Think, fiddle with your hands, just sit still and be bored. It is a very important thing to know how to do. Not every waking second needs entertainment and is actually really damaging to have something constantly going on whether it be phones or just general distractions
no i agree, im so addicted to dopamine that i cant leave my phone alone even for a minute or two. i should really start decreasing my screen time, ive tried it before but i only do it for a day or smthg then i give up and go back to how im usually like. its been this way for years that its really hard for me to stop
I was the same in grade school (but I didn’t rlly have high responsibilities then tbh) but now in uni during the whole academic term I don’t log in at all and only read during school break (and I go crazy for the first days lmao I don’t sleep) and I’ve deleted TikTok as well, u gotta limit and deprive yourself of dopamine so it has less of an effect on you, I now spend time watching long form content like podcasts etc so I still have something engaging in the background and still can do work at the same time
Hmm a way I was able to disconnect from TikTok and be able to use it responsibly after literally having around 5-7 hrs on there daily was letting my fyp become slop and js becoming bored and being aware of it!!! it caused me to snap out of the urge to scroll and close the app because instead of js scrolling to find content I actually like, maybe you can put a app limit for TikTok and only respond to streaks nothing else, another way to practice limits is to catch yourself clicking on social media automatically and immediately closing the tab, maybe closing your phone too if you find yourself doing it as a habit and boredom, but definitely having a social media break helps out with decreasing your need for quick dopamine
give a friend or online friend (or even a stranger here after swapping socials) the password to your mangago account, and give them a date as or a restriction (i.e: “only saturdays during this time can you swap my password back). then have them change your password so that you cant access your acc, and have them change it back to your og one when youre allowed to. tbh, it’s too nuch of a hassle to read in tbis site without an acc, and hy a certain point just too much work to make new ones, that yoy hust end up not bothering with this site.

can someone help me lock in. im failing all my major subjects beacuse i spend all my time reading manwhas. idk why i cant stop reading them. especially during exam time i pick up a new manwha and wont stop reading it till i finish it. i really need to get my grades up but idk what to do. ive tried switching off my phone, deleting my account but i always end up coming back to the website. i have all these hobbies i never do anymore because i keep going on this site.
