I dont get why that person thinks that shipping is the reason for "queerbaiting." Shipping happens with cannon couples and straight ships too, not just queer ones, however you dont see that same relationship bait with the straight ships like you do with queer ones.
The real reason you get stories like this with "bromances" and "queerbaiting" is because the author is afraid that their story will get axed because it's queer. They are afraid it wont get funding, views, and will recieve backlash because people are homophobic. So, to make the queer story they want, they make it as gay as possible without ever making it official. This only causes more shipping, not the otherway around. T-T

Yeah, trueee. I totally agree with you. Authors are afraid that they're works would gain tons of hate if they make it officially gae. And we get it, it's upsetting that person about queerbaiting and some would want it to be officially BL instead. But shipping keeps a work relevant and floating because it's getting another attention. Queerbaiting is just one thing authors does for their work to be recognize and attract more fans.
