True but also it's literally easier to keep the original art. It's kinda weird imo that this part of the art isn't respected. Like if someone thought the artstyle was ugly and "fixed" some drawings people wouldn't like it. But when it's this ppl completely take it into their hands
Back when translation groups were a thing, a group needed a special 'something' to get people to volunteer. This group their hook was redrawing dicks (and i loved them for that). Manga artist talk about actual drawing the penis, but censorship made them black bar it or or turn it into a holy object. So they could be restoring the manga to it's true dick-full form. Dicks are part of gay sex. Why would you not want to see the hotdog in the bun? Like just don't come to the cook out then.
I feel like you are making assumptions here, did this artist say that or is that just a general thing you've heard some artist say?
Also, I think dicks are gross. And I also think many people draw them very grossly. Like there's a lot of guess work and personal taste if that makes sense.
Anyway, many other things are apart of gay sex that are not represented here. I dont think BL has to represent realistic sex or gay relationships. honestly it's pretty much the opposite. It's just about the fantasy that people have and the trill. I think there are people (aka me) who would rather focus of the dynamic, faces and feelings of the characters rather than the actual proper part of sex of it all. (If you've seen the summer hikaru died , you'll know there's a scene that is very sexy without actually having any amount of real sex in it. I think the way bl represents sex has nothing to do with the physical act, and everything to do with tempo, relationships, paneling and so on)
This might be an unpopular opinion but I can't stand how it's uncensored. It's pretty gross imo. Also the original art is similar to harada and i wish I could view it as intended. Also, I don't like the colored pages, maybe it's like that in the original, idk. I wish there was a version that isn't uncensored (so that people could choose, honestly if you uncensore, you can also make a censored version pretty easily I think)
