😭😭😭 what are authors doing and why arent they taking care of their health

i can’t speak for all authors and artists but i do know that in korea, the work ethic is very strict and heavy-loaded(?) if that makes sense, especially for manhwa creators. companies will literally push their authors to the brink of death if it means more profit.

like, one extreme example of this is that one creator (i forget which book she published but i think it was an isekai) ended up having a miscarriage because of all the stress they were put through while creating their manhwa. it’s insane and so sad.
