Part of the reason Yohan can stay sane in the abyss was because he was oblivious to many things, it seems Hyunmook is keeping secrets because he fears it might "break" Yohan's mind. He thinks Yohan is not mentally prepared to understand what the reality of the abyss is, but as he is getting stronger, he learns more and more, and one day he will learn the whole truth (that inside the abyss, time runs differently-- the ML has been stuck in there for more than 30 years, maybe a hundred)
Also, yohan has awakened. He did the moment he fell into the abyss and is the first "purifier", he is a healer that can purify corruption and he's op because he can purify people, monsters and food so he's essencial to their survival in there (= - ω - =)
