I feel like him immediately recognizing Kei-chan despite the gender switch is a possible giveaway that he’ll be end-game. I mean, it shows that he KNOWS Kei-chan that thoroughly and loves him no matter what, sooo.. Although I do feel for Noel too… It’s a pity she didn’t get to spend as much time with the two just because they naturally became separated due to their genders since middle school started. It’s true people do tend to assume a lot of things when a boy and a girl become close, it’s as if they don’t think girls and boys can be friends in a purely platonic way. Which is really sad.
That aside, this manga does such a great job of portraying the struggles that women have to face everyday. I love how it shows Kei-chan starting to understand how difficult it is to be a woman, and yet also appreciating it. I mean, I personally feel that way too. It’s hard living as a woman in this society where even if things have been more progressive recently, it’s undeniable that patriarchy is still deeply engrained. But despite that, I also love being a woman—especially since, like showed in the manga, sisterhood/women solidarity is really amazing.
Anyway, I also really like that this manga shows that it’s fine for boys to like boys, girls to like girls, and boys to like girls and vice versa. Love is love. <333
