I think because Shuraka won’t tell him the full truth yk so with this maybe he will tell Tei the truth of whatever he wishes for or he will grant his wish whatever it may be yk? Whatever it is, this will guarantee for it to come true yk what I mean?
I think Tei just wants to show Shuraka that he is strong enough to defend himself and even Shuraka (not saying that he needs it). And I think this will give Tei more respect in the kingdom
