I initially thought Black Wings was Kail from an alternate future, or the same Kail who had gone through so much that he became corrupted and joined the demons. However, none of that turned out to be true. I'm surprised at how different the art, characters, and story are in the manga compared to the anime. Kail kept recognizing all the females, and it seemed a bit greedy of him to act like he had a claim on the elf and childhood friend in the anime. But in the manga, he friend-zoned his elf wife because his childhood friend is still alive in the new timeline. Still, he doesn't do anything to develop their relationship, which I don't mind because he had a goal and stayed focused on it.

It might just be me, but everyone in Kail's party seemed too obsessed with making friends with everyone — that typical kumbaya vibe. It's strange. If the sword girl had talked about what he experienced in the alternate timeline, why are they so trusting? It feels like the author might have gotten bored. I was surprised by how ruthless and backstabbing Seran was toward enemies (pretending to let them go, then killing them from behind), but he becomes quite soft-hearted towards the end. That was a little disappointing.

It's amusing that Seran thought of himself as a womanizer, yet the women run him. I think the Demon Queen would "fall" for whoever wielded the Dwarf hero's sword. She didn't know Seran, but she was immediately drawn to him, just wanting that sword as a memento of the guy who killed her father, lol. Wtf?
