I read a bit of spoilers, I’ll try my best to explain but this it’s not an exact timeline. Fake daughter does meet the emperor and fake daughter starts to attend the school. Emperor acknowledges fake daughter as royal blood somewhat but has a feeling that she’s not actually his real daughter. The emperor did had plans to adopt Ivy but after the whole fake daughter thing is unable to, but he still treats Ivy good and likes Ivy more. Fake daughter starts to have an attitude because she genuinely believes she’s the real daughter. But she’s actually Ivy’s cousin, that how she has the mark in her hand. It was a group of corrupted adults who used fake daughter as a pawn and made her believe she’s the real daughter. Later on(I don’t what age/ time frame) fake daughter does something horrible and is remorseful about her actions. And Ivy find out she the real daughter and tells the emperor.
