If elena was not the FL layla would take all the praise and love, imagine how much sorrow it brings to relive so much life because of someone you love who still wont ever recognise you and in the end dieing without seeing the love of your life or reconciling with them. I mean I understand Kyle and elena are dragon and Edna in a sense but they are just a shell and an avatar, the love layla and the actual dragon had got wasted and ended in sorrow , such a pity,one love ended in tragedy and other in happiness
