To be fair it would have been a very good detail if they had a boy but maybe when the drawing for the boy came, it might not have been their cup of tea ╥﹏╥

Tbh I would love it more if they had a son bc he could reflect more on how he got mistreated as a kid and how it's okay to love your child.
I know the story is portraying something similar with a daughter but imo it's easier for a man like him to love a daughter because she reminds him of his wife.
