You’re right, people have their preferences and that’s perfectly ok. But to me the first couple just hits so much harder emotionally. They met as strangers, Geonwoo fell first, but he soon realized Hajin wasn’t as serious. Even though Geonwoo usually goes along with everything Hajin says, he firmly stood his ground and refused to stay as just fuck buddies if it wasn’t going anywhere. Hajin had to fight his fear of relationships while still trying to promote his business. And then they even made long distance work while Geonwoo was training for his match despite all their doubts.
Their story feels so much more emotionally rich than the second couple’s. Although Seojoon had yearned for Joo-an for so long, so technically their story should’ve felt more intense. I think they needed more time to develop. It’s a little hard to believe Joo-an went from years of crushing on Hajin to suddenly being in love with Seojoon. To me it felt like he just doesn’t want to lose the last person who was close to him. If I were Seojoon, I’d also have a hard time accepting his affections. I’m not saying I don’t like them but Geonwoo and Hajin just hits different. Like they’ve literally been through a lot and then became the strong couple they are.
About Peanut, I’m so emotional that he’s an old man now. He’s 9 in dog years! He needs a partner soon. I hope he gets one in the side stories.
Yeah, I totally agree with you. The main couple's character development is amazing—they're very intense. Even at the beginning, when Geonwoo hadn't realized his sexual orientation yet, he wasn't in denial and accepted it right away

It started with Peanut and now it’s ending with Peanut’s narration too. Hajin and Geonwoo are one of my favorite couples ever…I’m gonna miss them so much. When Joo-an and Seojoon’s arc started, I didn’t think I’d end up loving them this much either. Author did an amazing job with this manhwa. Literally zero complaints. Great from starting till finish.
