What does it matter if she was a war criminal before or after she married into the family?
She’s a war criminal. At least as stated by the translated story.
Also you’re telling me that the most manipulative character in the setting just so happened to sincerely fall in love with the only man in the kingdom who was both unmarried and had the authority to protect her from just punishment? There’s no inkling of any possible ulterior motives there? No alarm bells?
I dont think this story is that serious for that kind of stuff to be taken seriously and consideratively....theres a reason why they didnt dive in too much about her past....shes like...how old now... Also- what the country would be worried about more recently now is the prince thats beinf held hostage in the other country right-??

Okay, I’m going to assume shit translations, because the alternative is that the FL’s grandmother is, by the definition of the story’s universe, a war criminal that killed an untold number of innocent people and escaped execution because she seduced the former head of the house. Which paints a very grim image of the family and the story as a whole.
Didn’t house Barghest have a code against harming humans? But somehow it’s okay if the wife does it? That’s nonsensical.
