I feel they may have had a different vision for it, but because they let it drown in so much angst, they may have felt the need to end it asap. Made me appreciate BJ Alex (a.k.a. their best work and one of my favorite bl's) so much more.
I just hope the author takes a deserved break before starting their next story because I feel like some good rest really helps in creating a story you enjoy making.
