i don’t know… as a child similar to hyesung who was abandoned at such a young age, i feel that the author was able to show it beautifully it actually made me cry.

it’s so true that you feel conflicted— do i like to see them or not? that at the end of the day, time will come where i need to face the reality that i cannot avoid them forever.

i like how you never want to see them— but you do at the same time, just so you can show how much you’ve grown so well despite being abandoned and feeling that the the world lacks of love for yourself.

it can go two ways as soon as you see them: you shout your pent anger towards them; or cry your heart out how much you’ve been longing for a care of a parent who was supposed to be the very first person to love, care, and protect you.

hyesung’s reaction was sooo real. afterall, we’re all just children clinging to receive love from parents, even on the day we die.

it’s true that it’s very conflicting that you think spending a day with them, having normal conversation, and receiving an apology would make everything well. but it’s not. it would really make you question: “if you can do this to me now, why did you not do it from the start— especially when i was a a child? i’m just a child”

i know some do not really like how it turned out and i also do not like how dojin and byul turned their back on hyesung. but i think the author was able to portray the emotion you feel when you have a very complicated relationship with your parents and how people— even the most important people in your life behaves — especially when they have never experienced any complicated family issues within
