This is an unpopular opinion, but I am way too practical in this sense as well. Same thing happened in feel my benefit and it took away the joy of could've been a great mpreg bc i was worried about how he'd raise a child, graduate and establish a good co-parenting relationship with the seme lol

YES ! Exactly this, mpregs have the chance to be so well written but unfortunately I feel a lot of people go about them the wrong way (and I agree with you on feel my benefit so much). So many people root for pregnancy but honestly, in the midst of a high-pressure situation that puts stress on everyone's shoulders, and add that to being a young adult in college? A baby just wouldn't be a good option right now, but I am wanting to see how this plays out so fingers crossed

I know we shouldn't use "real life standards" to evaluate everything, but it's really hard to take distance as a reader when this is such a prevalent issue in real life and many people who've had children too young actually had awful lives lol (ofc there are the ones who have good ones, but there's so much sacrifice and i don't wanna read that in my yaoi too)

If he has the baby hopefully it is well developed, but it just makes me sad that the alpha never misses out on anything while the omega will have to delay his dreams for their family to work etc

You absolutely get it. I can't help but be a little more realistic in situations like these because not everyone gets the chance to pursue a degree, so dropping it all for a baby you didn't even plan for just never made any sense to me. And yes, you're absolutely right, the alpha doesn't have anything to worry about meanwhile the omega now has to adjust for the changes in his body and everyday life, including the changes to his pursuit of education.

Seriously I try not to apply real-life sense to my little escape stories but goodness, the hormonal changes and chemical imbalances put both the parent AND baby at so much more risk in situations where it's hard enough to keep ahold of yourself, let alone a mini mouth to figure out how to feed. Truly hoping they don't make this into a story where so much has to be given up at the drop of a hat

I will applaud the first author who has the guts to abort the baby and make the omega love himself and his future more than he loves his alpha. I think going through this together would build much more closeness in a relationship than all the regret and resentment that grows when you have to raise a child on your own bc of someone else's selfishness.

I also hate that most omegas are poor so you can't be making decisions like this with no money in your pocket. Having a child for love, but not being able to provide the best life for them is kinda... complicated if you had the choice to avoid making them suffer not only financially, but the lack of another parental figure... it's ROUGH

Like, an alpha that says "you should follow your dreams, there'll be other times to have a baby in happier times. I wish we could have one now, but the timing isn't right, I'll stick through this with you" and like takes the omega to the appointment, stays with him while he cries etc etc, then the omega says he wants some time to digest the whole situation and they spend a couple of weeks away from each other and when they reunite, there's like this connection etc would be SO GOOD.

MPreg and Omegaverse was created for BL couples to have kids, they are never gonna terminate. The best you could hope for is a miscarriage.

AHHH YESSS, I totally forgot to check my notifications lol, but everything you said is so spot on here. While I do read a ton of omegaverses, I'm open to seeing changes like this from usual tropes that feel like they take so much away from the initial story iust to have a child in such an awkward time. They don't often have money, like you said, and that would only lead to more problems for everyone involved. The kid should have the chance to be born in a stable environment, because unfortunately not even just having a child out of love will be enough to properly care for a family.

I'd absolutely KILL for an alpha that'd encourage something like that for once instead of growing so possessive to the point it's suffocating. The bond would definitely grow so much if they actually took time to THINK about what it means to have a child separately. It always feels so rushed deciding to keep the baby, and the relationship doesn't feel developed enough, but if it were to play out like you suggested then I think it would most certainly make the relationship feel so much more loving and thoughtful. I WISH THIS WAS MORE COMMON

Well, I have seen a FEW terminate the babies, so I can always have a little hope inside that they don't throw it all away on a whim
