I think it’s a different story if it’s with an ex, she wouldn’t have to apologize if she had just said it in the beginning, but since she forgot to mention it and still not telling him atm, she decided it’s best to apologize for it after the business trip instead of keeping it.
But its work , if her bf tells her no dont go what would she do in that case, well all characters all already toxic in their way in this story
Personally, I think it’s important that she at least should have told him who she was going with, not to get his approval, but so that he’s in loop.
There are literally so many cheater stories in real life and in stories where they say they’re going on a business trip but actually are meeting other people, so at least be transparent asap to prevent any misunderstandings, which ML is alr seeing from the laptop
